and let the starry
    firmament you tread
be, for the moment,
    your elected base.

Feel Earth’s colossal weight
    of ice and granite,
of molten magma,
    water, iron, and lead;
and briefly hold
    this strangely solid planet
balanced upon
    your strangely solid head.
